fur/layers

Although winter is almost gone, we think it's definitely the best season for fashion: you get to put layers and layers and layers of clothes. Wether they are fat and heavy knit sweaters with 3 foot long scarves or a big boxy coat with a manly shape!
And in this past years I've been truly obsessed with (fake) fur. Mixing textures is always fun and gives another depth to your diary look. You can be dressed like a homeless and a stole will make the whole outfit pop.So if it's still cold where you live take the risk and put a fury friend around your neck while you can!

listening

For years Chet Faker has been one of our favorites, and nothing has changed.
Chet was born in 1988 and he is a australian electronica musician. He creates this dreamy sensation of a soft-whispering voice that keeps you in a happy place far from here.
We want to share with you his performance at the Boiler Room last year!

The pencil skirt.

For the last couple of years, the pencil skirt has been something in our wishlists that we haven't had the courage to purchase. The silhouette it provides, the femininity of the piece itself by showing the curves of the body, and it also helps to either give you shape or make you appear smaller. The high waist accentuates the smaller part of your stomach and really makes you seem taller and elongated.
So let's embrace spring and put the legs out.
You can find a variety of them at your local stores or online!

Below we listed some online stores where you can find a good selection of pencil skirts!

Tell us who you've been following, what you've been wearing, listening and wishing!

Bunheads

Hello guys!
So, the other day one of us was on Instagram and found this amazing illustrator that recreates ballerina pictures.
And we found about this because Inês shown me this drawing
and I said to her ' That's a recreation of Natalia's Osipova picture'. We were delighted and started scrolling around Barbara Zorzato Instagram account and trying to find out who was in every drawing!

And we were thinking 'this would make really cool t-shirt designs', but of course you can do that if you check out Barbara's Zorzato official website!

Barbara's work really shows her passion, not only for drawing but also for dance. Since little, she was really passionated about everything that's related to dance and you can really see the love she puts in every single recreation she does. Not only she's careful with making them look beautiful but she really created this image of hyperextended-dreamy legs and out of proportion elongated ballerinas that have really beautiful, ethereal and correct positions. A lot of work and dedication just like a true ballerina!

Yohji & Pina

Welcome!
We really want for you to get to know us so this will be a post where we talk about two areas both really important in our lives.
This is where fashion meets dance.
One thing you will realize from us is that black is something that really represents us. Since little we were really drawn to it and if it is black we pretty much will love it.

Keeping that in mind, one of our top 10 fashion designers is Yohji Yamamoto.

Yamamoto was born in Tokyo, 1943.

Yamamoto debuted in Paris in 1981. He thought ' that my men's clothes look as good on women as my women's clothing […] When I started designing, I wanted to make men's clothes for women.' All he wanted was ' for women to wear men’s clothes. I jumped on the idea of designing coats for women. It meant something to me – the idea of a coat guarding and hiding a woman’s body. I wanted to protect the woman’s body from something – maybe from men’s eyes or a cold wind.'

So we thought that we should share this video with you so that you get to know (if you already didn't) this amazing fashion icon.

So, one day I was browsing Pinterest and suddenly I see this black and white picture of Pina Bausch and Yohji Yamamoto and fell even more in love with them both!

So what we came to find was that to celebrate Tanztheater's 25th Anniversary (1998) , Yohji designed this dress/tunic for Pina.

Pina Bausch was a great german modern dance master. She started the Tanztheater 'style', which she developed as this blend of stage sets, music, dance and performers. As the result of it, she created the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch company, whom is known internationally. She truly believed that a performance was not about the audience to fully understand it, but that the performer had to do it because he thinks it's the right thing to do; that the dance is not there only to please but to challenge the audience. The works were mostly based on emotions and relationships. So she used a lot of improvisation and Pina always developed a really personal relationship with all of her dancers/performers.
And us, IMMC, we truly believe in this.
We both dance since we can remember, and the method of Pina is really close to our hearts because we really believe that dancing comes from within and that all of our past memories and experiences define us and what better way to translate it to the world than by dancing?
Pina was a huge influence in the modern dance and art world, such has Yohji still is, and we thought that this partnership between two giants of the art world could not defines us better because they combine everything we love:
Dance, Fashion, Art.
So this is really a way for you to get to know us.

We hope you enjoy and share with us some of the most influential and inspirational humans that you guys really love!
